Big stage for Composite Textiles

vombaur presents its lightweight construction textiles at Hannover Messe 2025

Hannover Messe is one of the world’s most important platforms for mechanical engineering and industrial transformation. In 2025, leading companies from the lightweight construction industry presented new materials and pioneering technologies in the Lightweight Construction Pavilion – including vombaur. For one week, the international audience was able to get to know our latest composite textiles made from high-tech fibres.

In the Speakers Corner, our project manager André Pixberg presented the special properties and advantages of our spiral woven fabrics for round geometries, such as brake discs or wheel rims, in a specialist talk: The spiral-shaped textile is woven and supplied directly in its final contour. Compared to textiles that are cut round using a cutter, our spiral woven fabrics minimise waste considerably. They also facilitate a multi-layer structure and therefore a higher fibre volume.

Naturally, we also had our UD tapes with us in Hannover. They noticeably increase efficiency in the production of lightweight components when used in the winding process, RTM, vacuum injection, DFP and other processes.

“Our spiral woven fabrics for round geometries ensure greater efficiency and less waste in lightweight construction with carbon fibre or glass fibre-based plastics. They therefore attracted a great deal of interest from our audience – both at the stand and during the presentation. Because
every gram of carbon they can save is a gain for our customers,” says Project Engineer André Pixberg. “Thank you once again to all visitors for your time and your great interest in our Composite Textiles. We look forward to further cooperation in the projects.”
