UD tapes for efficient composites production in the winding process, DFP and other techniques

They are lightweight, flexible and load-bearing: narrow textiles are therefore ideal as a base material for composites in aviation, the automotive industry, medical technology and many other industries. High product quality for tanks, pipes, masts and other round bodies

In the production of cylindrical lightweight components such as tanks, pipes and other high-end products, the particularly high-quality and load-bearing UD tapes made of carbon or other high-tech fibres offer significant advantages: The fibre guidance in the unidirectional tapes is highly controlled. The filaments are therefore placed with high precision during the winding process. The UD tapes are also excellently suited for processing in DFP and other manufacturing processes. The minimal ondulation ensures uniform layer thickness. For strong, robust and durable end products.

Customised product configuration

Regardless of which process is used by our partners, the individual project requirements are always decisive for our product development. The structure and properties of the UD tapes – such as strength, flexibility or weight per unit area – are defined by the appropriate selection of materials, weave construction and finishing. For example, our UD tapes can be finished with a binder or fleece. Widths are freely customisable from 5 to 330 mm and on request even wider.

Efficient production

Our UD tapes offer even more: compared to the processing of cut wide fabrics, vombaur customers increase their efficiency in the production of lightweight components with our narrow textiles. This is because the tapes can be processed more accurately, also with smaller geometries, thereby increasing the utilisation of resources. Waste avoidance is sustainable and reduces recycling costs.
